The Marine Diving Fair, Asia’s largest diving festival, is held every April at Sunshine City in Tokyo. Thanks to the support of everyone, next year will mark the 34th edition. We are pleased to announce that underwater photographer Ikuo Nakamura and nature photographer Junji Takasago will serve as official hosts for the upcoming 34th Marine Diving Fair in 2026!  Following on from the 2025 Marine Diving Fair, a powerful navigator tag team of two of Japan’s leading photographers will be formed!

After becoming freelance in 1976, underwater photographer Ikuo Nakamura continued to report on Tokyo Bay as his life’s work, publishing the photo journal “Tokyo Bay” in 1987, and also garnering attention for his photo book “Underwater Facial Exhibition.” In 2024, he released the photo book “Underwater Face Exhibition,” and a photo exhibition of the same name was held in various locations around Japan from 2024 to 2025. His photo exhibition “Goshikinuma Lakes and Marshes” was also held in May of this year, and has been well-received. His light-hearted talks, full of love and reverence for the ocean, are popular, and he is in high demand as a lecturer. He is also active as a judge for various photo contests.

Nature photographer Junji Takasago started out as a photographer for a diving magazine, and after going independent in 1989, he has traveled to countries all over the world, from the tropics to the polar regions, and has been photographing not only the underwater world but also rainbows, landscapes, starry skies, and living creatures all over the Earth.

In 2022, Takasago won the Grand Prize in the Nature Art category at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards, considered the world’s most prestigious nature photography competition. He has been invited to hold a photo exhibition in Paris, and has become a renowned photographer not only in Japan but around the world. He has also published numerous books and appeared on television and radio. He is also a Miyagi Kizuna Ambassador and Vice Representative Director of the marine environment NPO OWS (The Oceanic Wildlife Society).
